“ I am curious about the intersection & juxtaposition of the individual identity and the shared human experience. If a picture is worth a thousand words, how much more can moving bodies in space say? My work is primarily shaped by the multitude of my identity; equally important is the contribution of my collaborators, who each bring their interpretations and interjections. What stories can we create and explore together? Can we value the process as much as the product? My movement is generated through improvisation, narrative & inquiry, driven by a commitment to the visceral, vigorous, and expressive. My curiosity extends past the boundaries of the dance community. How can we radically lift the voices of the unheard- the queer, brown and black, poor, the disabled? How can we learn from the creative problem-solving required by dance? How can we use dance as a tool to help and heal the world? I am passionate about co-building equitable & sustainable art communities and the power of dance and art as essential sources of community and communication. Inspired by the natural biomechanics of the human body and the symbolic capacity of dance, movement becomes a language of authentic self-expression for me. “
